Anyone For a Game of Ladder Golf
Sunday, November 8th, 2009Ladder Golf is a new lawn game that is sweeping the country. Sometimes known as bolo launch, golf ladder is a simple game that consists of only a few items – a ladder with three steps and Bolo. The bolus is a 13 inch long piece of nylon rope that has a colored golf ball at each end. Bolos come in sets of three colored teams or individuals separated from each other.
Teams or individuals take turns tossing the jump to the ladder about 15 feet away. The goal is to wrap the bolo around one of the steps of the staircase. Each bar is associated with a number of points. For example, the first step, usually the figures of three points, the figures for East 2 points, and the lowest rung counts for one point. Of course, the other team or individual can beat the bolus out a notch, which means that you do not get points for this launch.
At the end of each round (with each person throwing three bolus), the scores are counted. The aim is that the team or individual to achieve a score of exactly 21. If you are close, but it goes beyond 21, the points for that round are deducted and you must try again next round.
You can purchase ladder golf sets online between $ 40 and $ 70 dollars. But if you have time, you can build your own for about $ 20 of parts and materials.
To build your own game level courses, you'll need 40 meters of PVC pipe. You also need a dozen tons of PVC fittings and a dozen PVC elbow connectors. To make the leap, you will need 12 golf balls (different colors in groups of three) and nylon rope. Additional tools you need to include a saw, hammer and chisel. Cut the tube into 12 pieces a foot long and six pieces of 2 meters in length. Turn a T-connector at the end of each 2 foot piece of pipe then add one foot long pieces of pipe T-connector, making sure they are facing the same direction. Repeat these instructions twice to create the steps scale.
Using a T-connector, connect two two-foot pieces of pipe, with t-connector to the center of the tube and eventually open up. Repeat these steps again. Use the elbow connector to add one foot sections at each end to form the base. Push the ladder form into the t-connector at the base. Repeat these steps to create two scales.
To make the Bolo, use the drill to put a hole through the center of all 12 golf balls. Cut the nylon rope into 14 inch sections, giving an inch on each end of a node. Put your nylon rope through the hole and tie a knot at one end so as not to miss. That the golf ball until the end to open the nylon rope and secure that end in a knot.
Ladder Golf is a game that is easy to carry with you everywhere and people of all ages will love to play.
